On Saturday I attended a Bloggers Brunch organised at Enzo by friend and fellow blogger Sophie aka SophieScran. Now I have to admit before I was invited I didn't really know too much about this restaurant, I had heard about it but that was about it. So I was excited to try it out and what blogger doesn't like brunch hey ?
Situated behind Primark on Fountain Street , you have probably walked past it without even realising as even though it is tucked away the location is pretty central. With Enzo it is all about the experience that you have when you are there, a pairing of good food and an even better atmosphere. The story began when the owner James started getting the bus to work with the driver called Enzo, who had a positive attitude towards his work which was infectious. A friendship grew and alongside their talks about passion and dreams the restaurant idea grew. The focus was fresh pizza, using fresh ingredients making their own bases to create a menu that was different from everywhere else. Unfortunately family circumstances prevented Enzo from being a part of this so in his honour the restaurant was named after him with the intention of always being different and being positive.
When you walk in it is bright, friendly and a big neon PIZZA sign at the back providing that different element. You can smell the pizzas cooking honing in on the fact you are in a pizza restaurant. However pizza isn't what we came for instead it was brunch and as you will see we weren't dissapointed.
We met at 11.30am and the place was filling up with family's fuelling up for the big Christmas shops. It really is a little gem where all the staff are friendly and the food is freshly made. Before the other girls arrived I got to have a good catch up with Sophie over a soy flat white, they also pride themselves on proper Italian coffee and I can second that.
What I love about these types of events is that you get to meet new faces every time and because there was only 5 of us it was the perfect opportunity to get to know each other, as well as have a little gossip with the friends you have already made along the way. Amidst all the chatter it did take us a while to finally decide what to have . I went for the classic brunch option of poached eggs, avocado and cherry tomatoes on toast as they had a gluten free option.
They serve brunch until 12 and there is an array of options alongside your usual brunch choices you could also get a breakfast pizza which if they had been gluten free I may have gone for but sadly not, this would be the only thing that would have been a nice addition to the menu. However they do offer a gluten free pasta alternative and vegan cheese available, and they do cater for vegetarians and meat eaters alike. And the portions sizes are decent too - it definitely kept me full until later.

After all the pictures had been taken from every kind of angle we could tuck in, another perk to dining with bloggers we all know the drill. I couldn't fault anything with my meal and as an added bonus for me the avocado was sliced not smashed making it easier to only have a small amount - IBS issues.
To make our brunch a festive one we ended it with a mug of mulled wine and a mince pie which was perfect to get us in the Christmas mood. I mean I was already in a Mrs Claus jumper but hey mulled wine is always a winner and this one was sweet and citrusy.
There was a really nice family vibe to the place with everyone tucking into their brunches or pizzas or pasta dishes, chatting away taking a break from the madness that is Manchester City Centre. Enzo have just launched their new menu as well adding even more meals for you to choose from - if you like a good brunch, pizza, pasta, coffee and cake then make sure you check it out!
